AV equipment suppliers for luxury retail
Installing sound solutions designed to disappear in Louis Vuitton’s Brisbane flagship
Louis Vuitton, the global luxury fashion house, commissioned a flagship store in Brisbane’s historic National Australia Bank building—a 1920s heritage site defined by Roman columns, marble interiors, and strict preservation rules.
LSI, a Hong Kong–based specialist AV equipment supplier, distributor and designer was engaged to deliver a discreet, high-performance audio solution using world-class brands Sonance, and James Loudspeakers.
The Brief
The project combined architectural sensitivity with complex acoustic demands. The building’s heritage status meant walls, ceilings, and structural elements could not be altered. On the ground floor, another challenge: A double-height banking hall with a mezzanine created uneven sound distribution risks. In the basement, a ceiling cavity of just 50mm severely limited speaker options. VIP rooms required higher-quality, customizable audio, while all installations needed heritage board approval—down to mounting methods.
With anything less than a precise custom-made solution, the store risked inconsistent sound, visible hardware, and delays due to compliance issues.
LSI Installs and Programs Unique AV Solutions
LSI applied a highly tailored approach, specifying multiple speaker types to suit each spatial constraint. Ultra low-profile ceiling speakers addressed the basement’s limited depth. On the ground floor, a combination of high-level, Sonance visual experience speakers and carefully positioned James Wedge Loudspeakers ensured consistent sound across both levels, avoiding volume imbalance between the mezzanine and main hall.
Discreet placement was critical. Speakers were concealed within architectural features or positioned in ceiling corners to preserve the integrity of the heritage interiors. LSI collaborated closely with Sydney integrator Matrix Audio Visual Services, delivering system design, programming, and remote tuning. All installation methods had to be documented and approved by heritage authorities, requiring ongoing design iteration.

Sonance Invisible Speakers & James Loudspeakers Deliver Targeted Audio
Specialist solutions were key to overcoming the project’s constraints. We used Sonance Ultra Low-Profile in the basement and James loudspeakers in a wedge configuration on the ground floor, discreetly mounted into ceiling corners beneath balconies. Sonance Visible Experience Speakers were installed on the upper level and VIP rooms. Together, these av solutions achieved full audio coverage without impacting the building’s protected marble and granite surfaces and also addressed the site’s spatial and regulatory challenges. The result was impressive audio performance alongside visual discretion.
Seamless Sound in Timeless Surroundings
The result is a seamless, audio environment that enhances the in-store experience without compromising the building’s historic character. Sound is evenly distributed across all levels, with elevated quality in the flagship’s VIP spaces. The system remains fully compliant with heritage requirements and is visually unobtrusive, allowing LSI to demonstrate its ability to supply, design and program technically complex AV solutions within highly constrained, design-led environments.
